Green Bird Travels
​
Green Bird Travels is a project that Miss King started in 2012. A stuffed Dr. Seuss character was given to her during a fundraiser event to support children's literacy. In 2013, it was suggested that Green Bird travel the world. So he goes across the globe teaching students about places they might not ever be able to experience. He has been to dozens of countries. From Hawaii to Dubai to Uganda to Paris. He has been a little bit of everywhere and is not done yet!

Miss King runs an exclusive Video Club for 5th grade students only. It is considered one of the most elite after school clubs that focuses on teaching students the rigor and excitement of writing content, filming and editing different types of videos. They create fun "Youtube" style trend videos to NHJ School District projects.

Alicia King is a Level 1 and Level 2 Google certified educator. With this training, Alicia helps lead professional development activities within her building. She also works close with the technology integration specialist to bring creative uses of technology into the classroom. On a day-to-day basis, Miss King actively uses technology in her classroom as well as helps resolve as many tech issues within her building as possible.

Miss King has been a member of the Indian Creek Intermediate School Social Committee since 2012. She has planned pumpkin carving contests, Christmas parties, luncheons and more. Alicia knows how to be a team player and step up when others can not meet their responsibilities.
